Goosie-Boosie

Stretching out my hand, the plea in my eyes Just for some understanding, some connection To the greater portion of life, to people. Rejected again, I see it in their eyes. My hand drops, I turn away, tears falling. Perhaps it is better this way, alone. Walking through this, stumbling now, No shadow crosses my own on this road If I fall, no one will catch me, save me. Forcing myself on, dashing the tears away Telling myself the rejection doesn't hurt. I will survive though my heart breaks.
